Home Reflections I am able to say no and forgive myself from trying to do it all.

I am able to say no and forgive myself from trying to do it all.

Saying no to people is getting easier and easier as I take better control of my life. I am no longer lost in the confusion of trying to do everything for everybody. Instead, I free myself from trying to please others as I learn to say no.

The power of no frees me!

If my schedule is full and someone asks me to do something that I simply cannot do, I tell them no. I avoid the stress of trying to do too much by using a planner and scheduling things appropriately.

If someone asks me to help with something I don't yet know how to do, I explain that someone with the right skills for the task could help them better than I. This stops me from trying to do the impossible and then failing in my commitment.

If I am called upon to miss my time with my family in order to help out someone else, I can politely decline, knowing that my family is my priority. Saying no to others gives me the time I need with my family.

Saying no also provides much-needed time for myself. Meditating, reflecting on my day, and doing the things that I enjoy can rejuvenate me and bring me the energy to be my very best in all areas of my life.

In addition, saying no when I need to enables me to successfully meet the commitments I do make. In turn, people know they can depend on me. If I commit to a task for someone, they will know with certainty that I will follow through.

Today, I choose to be careful with my commitments and only agree to those that I am sure I can accomplish.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.    Do I have trouble saying no?
2.    Am I able to meet all my commitments currently on my schedule?
3.    How can I reduce my commitments on a regular basis to allow time for my priorities?

The Kaizen challenge was invaluable in my life. Even my family is picking the fruits of my work, and now I want to enable them as well to create for themselves what Hannes helped me to create, and what we enticed them with.   In all areas of my life I feel under control, I know for certain where I am going, and I feel that I am making progress. These feelings are, as many would say, “invaluable” and a feeling that money can not buy.   It is one thing to have and... Read more...

Taking more responsibility in all aspects of my life, this has meant a great deal for me and my family. I look at a problem as an opportunity and can even now after a heated discussion put my hand out and shake the other parties hand and feel at ease with myself. I can see that people do not put in the time to work on them self’s and that is why they Read more...

WOW!! Hannes, this is what I have to say. Absolutely mind blowing. I have done your Powermorphing seminar in 2006, but have always struggled, as if something was missing. I am sure that Read more...

Not the Jaguar But my BAMBOO SHOOT I see that my success story was listed but not marked against lesson 49. So I decided to write another on seeing that it is only two days to go and I do want to share what has happened to me over the past year. I registered for the Kaizen Challenge in May 2007. I did the lessons as best I could. I set daily goals Read more...

Wealth Insight 2009-07-31 Split second decision making I’ve been studying how we make decisions. Sometimes we take a long time to decide and then make a mistake anyway. Other times we decide in a flash and we are right. Does it matter? Very much so! If spending more time on a decision doesn’t guarantee success, then what should we do? Let me give you two examples. Example 1: A panel of art experts spends months deciding to buy a $10 million work of art. They take samples, they... Read more...
